Julie McElrath Ray, LMSW, LCDC-I

Julie McElrath is the Interim Executive Director of University High School – a school dedicated to supporting teens in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse or dependency.  Prior to coming to University High School, Julie worked at Seton Mind Institute Behavioral Health Services facilitating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups for adults and adolescents.  She also has experience providing individual therapy through her work at Benchmark Recovery Center, a drug and alcohol residential treatment facility.  Julie has spent the last several years focusing her time and energy furthering her education, building relationships in the nonprofit community, and developing a working knowledge of nonprofit best practices.  She is a native Austinite and has worked in the nonprofit community as a Director of Advancement, Business Manager, and member of an Exploration Committee that successfully established and developed a statewide chapter of a national nonprofit organization.
Ms. McElrath holds a Master of Science in Social Work and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a certificate from the Graduate Portfolio Program in Nonprofit Studies from the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service at The University of Texas.
